MFA Announces Receipt of Four New Grants

March 23, 2018, New York City – The Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees (MFA) announced today receipt of four new grants that will enable the organization to greatly expand its capacity to deliver humanitarian aid. To date, MFA has delivered over $90 million dollars of desperately needed medical supplies, food, and other necessities to those in need in Syria, and has set a goal for 2018 to increase its shipments by 75%. MFA is very pleased to acknowledge our new donors for supporting these goals:

  • The Newton and Rochelle Becker Charitable Trust

  • The Arnow Human Health Fund

  • The Shapiro Foundation

  • The Morningstar Foundation

Taken together, these grants will help MFA achieve its largescale 2018 agenda, which, in addition to vastly increasing shipments of humanitarian aid, will significantly expand its communications and awareness-building capacity, its staging of speaking tours, promotion of fair refugee policies through its advocacy efforts, and its network of humanitarian and donor support.

“We are exceedingly grateful for the participation of these donors. Our shipments are reaching a region of more than 1.5 million people and bringing essential medications, clothing and food. We are also involved in projects such as establishing a new bakery that now serves 40,000 people, and we’ve provided the only CT-scan equipment that serves a population of 400,000,” said Bennett Gross, MFA’s Executive Director. “Our donors’ generosity and commitment turns human needs into humanitarian relief -- which inspires us on a daily basis.”
