MFA Sends Letter in Support of TPS for Syrians to Secretaries Nielsen and Tillerson

This week, MFA Founder Dr. Georgette Bennett wrote a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson urging them to extend and redesignate Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Syrians. In the letter, Dr. Bennett described the dangerous and deteriorating conditions in Syria. According to the State Department, "No part of Syria is safe from violence." Requiring Syrians to return under these circumstances violates the 1951 Refugee Convention and goes against the moral imperatives of all faiths.
