Faith & Heart hygiene kits leave Kansas warehouse on journey to help Syrian war victims

A Fed-Ex truck picked up 15,000 hygiene kits from our partner Heart to Heart International in Kansas today to be delivered next month to thousands of needy Syrian war victims. Many of the hygiene kits were assembled in June by more than 800 New Yorkers, representing the city’s diverse faith communities, in the first such multifaith event to help Syrians. The unprecedented multifaith event, held at the 69th Regiment Armory, was co-sponsored by Heart to Heart International, the Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees and its partner, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC). The kits contain essential health items for women, and such basic and necessary materials as combs, nail clippers, and washcloths.

The 15,000 hygiene kits will travel by train to the Port of NY and be sent via container ship to Turkey, from where they will be distributed by our partner Orient for Human Relief to suffering Syrians.
